Love the Old Town – 2025 campaign
Southampton’s Old Town is one of the city’s most distinctive areas – rich in history, full of character, and home to independent shops, historic landmarks, and welcoming places to eat and drink. At the heart of the community, it represents both heritage, independent businesses and local pride. To celebrate this unique district and encourage people to explore and support it, in 2024 Visit Southampton launched the Love the Old Town campaign.
The brief
Building on the launch campaign’s success and incorporating the new city branding along with the campaign theme and established campaign logo, capture attention, highlight key attractions, and make it easy for visitors, residents and university students to discover what the area has to offer.
Our approach
We developed the campaign and seamlessly conflated branding and produced a range of collateral to engage local residents and visitors alike:
• A city map and fold-out DL guide showcasing the Old Town’s landmarks, attractions, and hidden gems.
• Design, print, and distribution of campaign materials, including a targeted Royal Mail door drop to local households, ensuring the message reached the right audience.
The outcome
The Love the Old Town campaign successfully reinforced the area’s identity and encouraged more people to explore Southampton’s historic heart and independent businesses. With striking branding and practical, shareable collateral, the campaign helped boost footfall, strengthen community pride, and support local independents.
