This Christmas, we worked closely with Visit Southampton to create a city-wide campaign extolling the first truly, full-on Christmas since 2019.
Our hero creative; ‘SO this is Christmas’, sparkled and twinkled just like the city, which dressed up to party.
The hero campaign creative informed all the activities the city offered. Firstly, the Countdown to Christmas and launch in the city center on November 17th, with a big events stage hosting live acts and entertainment, a Christmas Market, an ice rink, and late-night shopping. With strolling characters dressed up, some on stilts, and everyone generally behaving like a real-life fairy tale, Southampton was set. See video
THE GREAT ELF INVESTIGATION. We helped create two FREE city walking trails, featuring naughty elves who have stolen Santa’s presents and taken selfies with them. With 20 of the selfie clues, sprinkled across two North and South pole trials, we created walking maps and competition entry forms to win prizes for completion and posting into Christmas postal boxes in the city.
GIVEAWAY. There was also a BIG Christmas Giveaway with shops offering the chance to enter a free prize draw to win a big ticket, high-value gifts donated by retailers across the city, for a minimum spend in store.
CHRISTMAS GUIDE. For the first time ever, all the many things to do, see, take part in and enjoy during the festive period, were gathered into a 12pp A5 guide which was freely available and distributed across the city and to 60,000 schools. See the digital guide here:
The Visit Southampton campaign featured all over the city, in large format printed posters, digital screens, cross street banners, triple-sided information banners, and in venues and theater and shop fronts across the SO area.
